A beautiful vintage ceramic water pitcher in the shape of a large bunch of asparagus tied with green garden twine. With a lovely pale green leaf covered stalk for a handle. Also excellent as a pitcher for lemonade or the frosty summertime cocktail of your choice.
We are partial to the famous pineapple-rum punch from Carmen Aboy Valldejuli's classic tome of Puerto Rican Cooking, Cocina Criolla, which is prepared as follows:
"In a large saucepan, dissolve 2 cups sugar in 2 cups of pineapple juice over low heat. Remove from heat and mix with remainder of 1 large can (1 quart 14 oz) of pineapple juice. Add 1/2 cup fresh lime juice and 5 cups of Puerto Rican rum. Mix well. Pour into glass or porcelain bowl (or ceramic pitcher in the shape of a large bunch of asparagus). Store in freezer until ready to serve."
Made in Italy. C. 1980s
8" tall x 9.5" wide (including handle)
Please note that this jug is vintage, and has been used. We do our best to choose only the best items for our vintage collection, but if you are looking for new and shiny, this is probably not for you.
